Members notice: Rehearsals restart 12 April 2012
Hessle Sinfonia is a thriving amateur orchestra based in Kingston upon Hull, in the East Riding of Yorkshire. We give three public concerts each year in the hall of Longcroft School and Performing Arts College, Beverley.
Our next concert is on July 7th 2012. The major work for this concert is Schubert's Symphony No 9 known as "The Great". The first half will be the Russian Easter Festival Overture by Rimsky-Korsakov, Five Variants of Dives and Lazarus by Vaughan Williams and Marche Slave by Tchaikovsky. Our MD Gavin Usher makes a welcome return to the podium for this concert.
Ticket prices are £7.00 for adults, with concessions £5.00, 11 to 19 year olds £2.00, and free to under-elevens. The concert starts at 7:30 pm and tickets are available on the door.
Our aim is to provide good classical music in a relatively informal setting.
Please look at our concert calendar, we hope you find the music we play attractive and will come to our concerts.
The Sinfonia gratefully acknowledges the financial assistance of the East Riding of Yorkshire Council.
