Hessle Sinfonia is a thriving amateur orchestra based in Kingston upon Hull, in the East Riding of Yorkshire. We give three public concerts each year in the hall of Longcroft School and Performing Arts College, Beverley.

Our next concert is the 17th March 2012. We welcome back Bethan Jones as our conductor.  In the first half we will celebrate two anniversaries. To mark the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II we will play the The Three Elizabeths, a suite by Eric Coates picturing Elizabeth I, Elizabeth of Glamis (the late Queen Mother) and the eighteen-year-old Princess Elizabeth (now Elizabeth II). We will also mark a year since the death of John Barry with works taken from his film music which included Dances With Wolves and Out of Africa. The second half of the concert will be devoted to Dvořák's 8th Symphony.

Ticket prices are £7.00 for adults, with concessions £5.00, 11 to 19 year olds £2.00, and free to under-elevens. The concert starts at 7:30 pm and tickets are available on the door.

Our aim is to provide good classical music in a relatively informal setting.

Please look at our concert calendar, we hope you find the music we play attractive and will come to our concerts.

The Sinfonia gratefully acknowledges the financial assistance of the East Riding of Yorkshire Council.
